My primary expectations were to experience medicine in a new country and culture and compare these differences to my home country of Australia. I’ll be taking so much away from my time in Nepal. The people were very welcoming and always went out of their way to help me when I was inevitably lost in the hospital. The staff were very open to teaching and I got more hands on experience in Nepal than I would in my rotations in Australia. The food was also delicious and is something I will be missing back home. I will also miss the host family at internship Nepal, Ashim and Sheila, who made internship Nepal feel like a home away from home.
