Nepal’s climate varies by season and altitude. Kathmandu is generally warm from April to June, with the monsoon season lasting from June to September. October and November are usually mild and dry, while December to February can be cool, especially in the mornings and evenings. We recommend checking the weather forecast before travelling and packing suitable clothing for the season and placement location.
We offer medical electives and internships in nursing, midwifery, dentistry, physiotherapy and other healthcare-related fields. Placements are available in various hospital departments and can be arranged according to your academic background, interests and placement availability.
You should be able to communicate effectively in English, as it is the primary language used during your hospital placement and at your homestay.

Yellow fever (not necessary unless you are coming from or going on to countries where a Yellow Fever certificate is required)
Rabies (this immunization is very expensive and is not necessary when medical attention is readily available)
Japanese B Encephalitis (only suggested if spending time in the Terai area during monsoon. No placements are available in this area)
Malaria (only suggested if spending time in the Terai area. We have no placements available in this area.)
Some of these can be taken in oral form so you could discuss with your doctor to see what is best for you. Some people can be affected quite differently to others by medication.
You may take family members with you on the program if you are taking part in the Home stay program. Older children who are more independent will be considered on a case by case basis if you are thinking of taking part in an alternative program. Partners will also need to apply if they wish to take part in the program.
You will purchase your visa at Kathmandu airport after you arrive. You can stay for a maximum of five months in a year in Nepal.
But people with passport of these countries do not get visa on arrival at the immigration entry points of Nepal:

We accept applications from students and qualified professionals in relevant healthcare fields, subject to the availability of placement spaces. Applicants must submit the required documents and meet the eligibility and documentation requirements of the host hospital or institution.
If you choose accommodation with an Internship Nepal host family, a host family member or Internship Nepal representative will meet you at the airport and take you to your accommodation. This airport pickup service is included at no additional cost.
If you arrange your own accommodation, you will be responsible for organizing transportation from the airport. Your hotel or guesthouse may offer airport pickup, or you can arrange a taxi or another transportation service.
