University of Groningen
My primary expectations were not that high when arriving in Nepal after a tiring and disappointing first semester at my home university. I was looking forward for first hand experience in NGO's and the humanitarian sector, regarding Human Rights. It turned out to be a great experience, with lots of autonomy, clear and challenging tasks, and independent ambitions. I learned how to work in a professional environment that is highly different to the one I was used to in Europe, despite having prior academic experience in Taiwan. The internship taught me patience, empathy, and leadership at micro-level. I will definitely use this experience in other professional contexts.
