Hi everyone!

We are Marieke and Nina, nursing students from Belgium. We came to Nepal with this organisation for a nursing internship in the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu. Internship Nepal arranged this elective position for us, and provided us with a lovely home to stay during these three months.

It was not just a place to stay, it felt like an actual family, which we are incredibly thankful for. We got accepted in a Nepali family, who (very patiently) learned us a lot about the culture here in Nepal(by the way, we LOVE eating with our hands, well, RIGHT hand :D ). We met other students from all over the world, and all of them got a little place in our hearts. Our experience at the hospital was most interesting, we learned a lot about how the hospitals work here in Nepal, and how the best possible care is provided with the available resources. During our free time we explored Nepal as much as we could. This sometimes with just the two of us, but a lot of times together with our international friends from the house.

These three months were absolutely amazing, and we are grateful for the chances and opportunities we got. We tried to enjoy our time to the fullest, and are going to miss this lovely country, the lovely people, but most of all, our lovely family!
